My new “add-on” RP drums were delivered Friday (!) For what it’s worth, they arrived 128 days (that’s 18.3 weeks or 4.3 months) after my order was placed with my dealer. I was beginning to feel like an expectant father and searched the web for the “Wait Times” others had actually experienced without finding any information other than the “4 to 6 month” standard response from Pearl. The new drums are a 14x20 BD and 14x14 FT. Now I can “mix” whatever is ‘gig-appropriate’ from a selection of 18x22, 14x20, 16x16, 14x14, 9x12 and 8x10. I’m really happy with how light the 14x20 BD is. With a BB3 tom mount and an internally mounted Audix D6, it weighs 23 lbs.

I see you have one of those little "Stanley" air movers. I have one as well. They are essential for gigging. I see you got a black one though. Mine is yellow. Nice set also... btw.sigpic

Re the fan, that one is actually blue. Here in "Sun Coast" Florida, doing so many outdoor gigs, a fan is mandatory. These newer, affordable centrifugal or "Squirrel Cage" fans are the best I have ever had on stage. Mine fits nicely in an old 9x13 Tuxedo bag , so it's easy to haul and not dragging a cord around. The fan unit has two 3-wire outlets on it and the 3-wire cord is about 15 ft long making stage power management easier. I guess I sound like I'm selling these things!Last edited by sarasotadrums; 10-27-2015, 01:35 PM.SarasotaDrums

I am also planning to order more drums a bit later on, by the way, so that I can have a full set that I can configure based on the band and gig. So far, I am going to have a 18x22 bass drum, 8x10, 9x12 and 11x14 rack toms and 16x16 floor tom. I'm thinking of getting a 16x20 bass drum and 7x8 rack tom in the future for more jazz oriented stuff. How does the 18x22 bass drum sound? I have heard it on youtube videos and it sounds really loud and lacking in midrange. It is the only part of my first order that I am second guessing.
