      Hi nik12,

While technically every drum is a form of tube or pipe, octobans don't fall under the category of Pipe Drums. In this subsection of the forum, we're focusing on discussions about traditional Scottish drumming.

There are pipe bands all across the world, categorized by class, and competing in various leagues throughout the Spring and Summer. Their season culminates at World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in August. To learn more, I'd recommend the RSPBA website or the World Pipe Band Championship Wikipedia entry.

For more information on Pearl's Championship Pipe Band instruments, including our new Medalist Pipe Snare, click HERE!

      Thank you!

This topic should be re-named from Pipe Drumming to Pipe Band Drumming,.

That's a great suggestion, it'd be much clearer.
