Actually if always set to the tightest position , after a while the spring does stretch and won't work as well unless tight. They are easily replaceable, and as stated most are all the same size. Only issue might be the threaded rod. Some pedals had smaller rods, newer ones are slightly bigger. But you can always use the rod and swap the actual spring.18 kits and 40+ snares.......Yea I might be addicted to drums.

Some one has worked on the spring with a pair of Pliers and it is about to break, This seems to be a Little different spring its not just a one piece spring, it seems the ends are not attached to the coil part of the spring but run thru the center some kinda way any Old Old school Pearl guys out there that Know what Im talkin bout ? the standard Springs that are out there just dont have the same feel and feel is why I bought this in the first placeIf you're not Groovin in the Pocket you're just makin noise!

Would it be possible to take the spring off the pedal and measure the length?

Boy that photo brings back memories! I had that pedal too! It was a great pedal. I played the heck out of it. I especially liked the toe stop and that I could shorten the strap to suit my playing style. I almost wish I had that pedal back! I replaced it with an Iron Cobra which I like a lot too.
