  • Any way to repair B1000 rubber accents?

I need some help repairing the rubber accents that are on the B1000 series boom stands.

The pic below will point out the pieces that have come loose over time.

Is there a specific way to reapply these?

    Thanks,

on the lower one you could probably just find another rubber o-ring that would fit around the tube. Don't know about the upper. Got any pics of the damage?

Not any pics yet. I may be able to take some tonight. They're not broken, they have just come loose from their original application.

What type of adhesive should i use to re-apply, if thats the way to go?

well if you get the right size o-ring, you shouldn't have to use any adhesive.

For the tilter, I don't know what I would use. Hot glue maybe? You can cut the excess off with a razor.

I have the exact same problem with some CH2000 cymbal holders. Those same pieces are loose. I have not fixed them yet, but I am probably going to try super glue or Gorilla glue. If that does not hold, I thought about trying some good automotive grade 3M adhesive lkke they use on their double sided tape. You can buy just the adhesive, but it isn't that cheap. I would definitely like to see if anyone else has any suggestions before I try something myself.

I vote for the 3m adhesive. I don't have any experience with those stands but I know pearl will glue pieces like that on. No reason you shouldn't be able to

If you do have to use adhesive, try using gorilla glue as stated above. It will harden in about 48 hours fully and will "overflow" to allow a tighter fit. I would only use that as a last option if you aren't able to doctor it up another way without using adhesives.

Have you tried using any dual sided bonding tape or any type of filler to help return the rings to a more original shape?
I play with strings and sticks.

I havent tried any 3m tape but the pieces seem a little too small to get tape on. Glue would adhere better i think

Are they just loose and not holding in place anymore or did they actually break/split?

On mine just the top parts have came loose, not the bottoms (yet anyway)...they keep sliding down and getting stopped by the wing nut. If i push them back up they stay for a few days, then fall back down. But there is no damage to mine.

They're not broken or split, just seperated from the metal.

I would use rubber cement. That stuff sticks to everything though so be carefull not to get it anywhere near moving parts . Only use a little because it will expand a little.

I'm having the same problem with a clh-1000 (closed high-hat) arm I just bought off ebay. Picture didn't show it loose, nor did the seller mention it. My ch-1000 arms, and th-1000 tom holders have not developed this problem, at least not yet. I'd like to hear what Pearl recommends before I go using crazy glue or some other glue/cement product on it.

I've seen th-1000's before with the black rubber/plastic part completely removed. But, I thought that was just because someone chose to remove it. Possibly to make it look more like the th-900 holders. Personally, I don't like the black plastic parts. They look cheap in my opinion. Especially cheap looking are the rubber stoppers on the ends of the pipes on the boom arms.

I would just glue it back on. I lost the rubber piece from one of my TH2000's. I emailed Al and he said it's not a for sale or available replacement part, so I just pulled the rubber piece off my other TH-2000 so they match. It's only a superficial part and doesn't do anything, on mine anyway.

Super Glue. Just a couple of drops works fine. I'm in Florida and every piece of rubber has come off my 1000's from the heat. Super glue and they haven't come off again.
