  • How to setup remote hi-hats on a Roland TD-27 kit

    Hi everyone
    I've upgraded a Roland TD-15 with a few extra elements (floor, crash, PD-140DS snare, KD120 kick, VH-10 hi-hat and TD-27 sound module).

Because I've got used to playing a 2nd remote hi-hat on my acoustic kit, I was wondering if I could replicate this on my electronic kit too, ie using both the original CY-5 hi-hat and the FD-8 pedal (from the TD-15) as a second remote hi-hat that I could play the same way I play my main hi-hat (the VH-10), like open, close etc.
The CY-5 does ok once plugged on AUX Trigger IN, but I'm not able to "link" the FD-8 pedal with it (it's on another AUX trigger IN)

Would there be a way to associate the FD-8 and the CY-5 on a TD-27 module?

The TD-27 only recognizes one Hi Hat Controller input, so you can't use a VH-10 and FD-8 at the same time - it would have to be one or the other.

If you assign a Hi-Hat sound to your extra CY-5, though, you can choose to either also control it with your VH-10 or set it as fixed open\closed.
