Thank you to all who joined us on the Pearl Drummers Forum but we have decided to continue the conversation at the Pearl Drummers Group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/pearldrummersgroup Although the Pearl Drummers Forum is closed, the content is still searchable as there are many informative threads on Pearl gear. We hope to see you at the Pearl Drummers Group!
And while I am at it, and don't want to bother my rep with even more questions, I hope you can answer that:
I want to to get a 14x6 snare drum, but also would like to have the STL lugs that are connected, like this:

This is indeed a 14x6 snare drum, but in the spare parts catalogue I haven't seen a mention of STL-60 lugs, as they would probably be called then.
Also, the new Matt Halpern snare just has the regular STL-55 lugs:

So I just need a clarification, if the lugs like on the first drum can be done for me as well.
Thanks in advance
On the first drum Masterworks Urban. In the pic, the lugs look to be STL55L/B swivel tube lugs for 5.5 and deeper snares.
Who knows...
like I said, maybe he read that DW patent and thought it meant nobody else can do hybrid bearing edges anymore?
I have no idea honestly how it's actually made sure for all kinds of companies to keep up with the latest patents in regards to what they are doing.
Well, with hindsight my wording seemed a bit wrong...
What I meant was just because it's late at night, I could get help from you guys from America, so I can just send him my finished order form tomorrow.
I don't want to tell his name, but he is a very nice and helpful guy.
I think it was likely just a misunderstanding from him about DWs patent.
But either way, I appreciate you all helping me out on this forum
yeah that's cool.. but my point is.. you have a choice of many people to deal with..
and more importantly..... why does this guy even have this in his head??...... why did he even go there??

Alright, thank you so much for clarifying, Al!
I was already wondering, because I also saw that Troy Wrights recent Masterworks kit came with the same bearing edges.
And really cool to get some insight into Dennis Chambers kit as well, he's a legend!
So one thing less to worry about
According to our Masterworks specialist Tom Storch, yes, this hybrid edge request can be done. I believe we did this for Dennis Chambers on one of his kits.
Thank you for your reply.
Of course the bearing edges themselves are all something Pearl offers, I am more talking about having different edges for top and bottom (fully rounded top, 45° bottom).
