Will there be shell packs of these similar to the Masterworks-derived Reference series?
Also, several of the NAMM videos described the Stadium series as having thick 8 or 10 ply drums, but your site says otherwise.
Yes the gumwood (used as part of shell recipes in the 60's and 70's) has a nice retro / vintage sound.

Thanks for the update on the Stadium series, I've notified our Marketeers. It has the same shell as the old CZX series 8 and 10 ply shells.

Yes, those are absolute winners. Black limba seems to be on trend right now (I recall seeing a rather pretty Ludwig Legacy black limba finish recently)...

Raymond Massey and I talked about these new CZX shells yesterday at the lunch. I noticed off the bat the outer ply was quilted maple. The old CZX were birds eye maple. Raymond also indicated the bearing edges were different. The current CZX kills! All of the Sonic Select drums sounded great but my faves were the Studio and Stadium in that order.

              Pearl did it again.

The drum market and its engineering, I think that nowadays with Pearl, DW (and maybe Sonor) ahead, its unbeliveable!

Any idea when any demo videos of the studio shells will go live? Want to keep them in mind for my imminent Masterworks order...

I've got a Studio recipe Masterworks and while I don't know when there will be an official video, I can definitely say I am completely happy with the shells; audibly and visually.

Why don't you post some pics of your new kit?

Having Photobucket challenges at the moment, bear with me...fwiw the photos Derek opened the thread with are much better than any I can take.
-Star Bubinga is long gone, sold to fund this Artisan Masterworks
-Still waiting on my custom Masterworks order but this one is filling the void nicely

Didn't I post a photo of my Earth finish sq2 a couple years ago?

One thing I really like is the inside of the shells; this isn't mentioned much but the details of the inner ply are very nice!
