  • Just picked up a Chestnut Fade MCX from eBay!

Some of you may have seen that I was looking for a Lava Bubinga BCX. Seeing as how they can no longer be ordered and I have very specific tastes when it comes to tom sizes (which makes what I'm looking for nearly impossible to find on the used market), I decided to go with the MCX. Some Chestnut Fade components popped up on eBay and the color is similar, just without the pop that the Lava Bubinga has. The two toms are within 30 minutes of my work, so I'm going to be picking those up in person. Only the bass is being shipped. I'm in for just over $900 for a 12x9, 14x11, and 22x18...not too shabby. The bass is new old stock, and the two toms are in perfect condition. I'm happy as a clam right now!

I'm going to be ordering the matching 16x13 tom from either Drums On Sale or Portsmouth Drum Center in the next week. That'll give me the flexibility to do 1 up 2 down, or 1 up 1 down (12/14 or 14/16).

Pics to follow once everything is in and setup!
Micro Kit: (Lava Red ECX) - 10x8, 13x10, 16x16 w/ Optimounts & Die Cast Hoops
Snares: (Natural Maple) 10x6, (Amber Maple) 12x7
Sabian Cymbals / LP Percussion / Pro Mark Sticks & Mallets / Evans Heads

Chestnut Fade is a finish I am fairly familiar with.
Still very much in love with my MCX. Seems like a
straight forward color until you really look at it.
Congratulations and I am looking forward to seeing
pictures of your Masters MCX Chestnut fade drums.
