Thank you to all who joined us on the Pearl Drummers Forum but we have decided to continue the conversation at the Pearl Drummers Group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/pearldrummersgroup Although the Pearl Drummers Forum is closed, the content is still searchable as there are many informative threads on Pearl gear. We hope to see you at the Pearl Drummers Group!
Practice makes perfect. But ultimately, I am living proof that you don't need to play well to enjoy gear. You might be surprised how much enjoyment you can get while still sucking.
Well, after starting a search for a jam/gig kit back in April I finally landed one, to the joy and relief of many! The journey was certainly fraught with toil and snags, but I came out relatively unscathed, and with a smile.
Thanks especially to Jamie, Lonny, Marv, Matt, Nelson & Paul for their assistance and experience in guiding this somewhat erratic shopper!

Starting with the ‘out of the box’ set up, and will make changes/additions in time. Rest assured it won’t get as big as the Refs.

Looks sweet. I love the way bronze glass looks with some shiny cymbals up top. Needs more cowbell though. Don't you have a spare from the purple people eater?

I love it! You do need a cowbell. It's one of my favorite instruments. You have your cymbalege covered. Can't go wrong with AAX crashes, ride, and hats. The color is breath taking and I'm sure that you've noticed real chunks of Glass in the Glitter! The BB-3 is so practical and saves time I'm surprised people live without them. Great Kit Mike and congrats!
Of course in due time; we want a detailed sound comparison to the Reference. This is a comfortable place to hang out!

Swawaweet kit! And I agree-there is something so classic about the toms mounted on the kick. And so practical for a gigging kit 'cause you can carry the kick and two toms out in one shot. Add a splash or crash mounted to a tom arm with an AX25 and you consolidate even more.
Enjoy your new kit!
