  • Complete list of MRV Finish Options.

I've read in several places on the forum that the MRV can be special ordered (I mean its ALWAYS special ordered, but SPECIAL special ordered) with past master's lacquer finishes. However there is no image anywhere on the Pearl website that has a color palette with all of these finishes so its a little bit unclear which old master's finishes are applicable. Posted below are image from every general catalog that I could find on Pearl's website back to 2007. If someone in the know could comment which of the below are applicable that would be very helpful!

So there it is! Obviously all of the listed MRV finishes are allowed, but what about the rest? It would be great if Pearl's website had a Masters Maple Reserve Special Order Colors chart/list like it does for the reference and reference pure.

while we don't show the older finishes, Our Factory HQ said they'd honor the older Masters / Masters Premium lacquers on the MRV series. MCX was below the MRV line but I wouldn't be surprised if the factory wouldn't allow MCX discontinued finish on the MRV series.

I doubt they'd allow MCT masters complete finishes on MRV since MCT is it's own current active series.

Just to be clear: MCX discontinued finishes are allowed: YES or NO. The double negative is throwing me off :P

I guess my follow up question is do Pearl dealers know that these old finishes are honored? When I try to order my MRV will they already know that these older finishes are allowable or will I have to explain it?

No, not all dealers are aware. How it works they (dealer) either get an inquiry and then they submit it to their sales rep. It gets sent to purchasing and they get an approval or push back from the factory. If it is confirmed by the sales rep or approved by HQ that is when the dealer gets back to the consumer and a purchase order is made. Like I said, it the past PMI HQ has allowed all previous Masters / Masters Premium finishes to be added to MRV Masters Reserve.

Al, would the factory honour Masters Premium Legend MPL finishes? Specifically if I was to order an MRV snare in Scarlet Sparkle Burst?

I don't see why not? MPL Legend is still in the Masters Premium family.
