Quite hard to describe the sound of a china, there is a huge range in sound aswell from depending on wether they have bells or not, how they are mounted etc,

But for a vague idea- where a crash goes PPPPSsssssh, many chinas goes PASSssHHHH LOL
Do it out loud , and i hope it helps :P

Thinking about it- it might be a teeney bit more accurate to listen to the sound files on the zildjian website (www.zildjian.com)

Good luck in finding a cymbal,

Those are some heavy crashes. A set of Avedis medium crashes in the same sizes would give you some nice pitch combinations. They aren't dark in general, but compared to your rock crashes, they will sound significantly lower in pitch. If you drop down to a K crash or something like that, the pitch difference may be too extreme. Take you cymbals to a drum shop and try them out with other crashes to find the right intervals in pitch. I'd look at other cymbals in the Avedis series as well as A Customs to start with as they tend to blend well with A's.

If you're looking for a deep, loud, penetrating crash, try a Sabain AA 18" Rock Crash. I don't knwo if you're a fan of Sabian or not, but I suggest you try the cymbal is you can find it in stock anywhere...

I would go with an 18 or 19" Z custom zildjian crash.
You can't go wrong with Zildjian!

I have 18" and 19" Z Custom Crashes, both excellent, loud, cutting cymbals.

Yeah, I was really impressed with their sound.
                        The hats aren't bad either.

True, Zildjians do sound good...But they crack too easily. I've destroyed a Z Custom 17" Rock Crash in less than four months. Don't get me wrong, I loved the way it sounded...but they crack too easy. That's why I suggested the Sabian AA 18" Rock Crash.
