  • Suspending snare for Cocktail/Hip Gig kit

I'm assembling an homemade cocktail kit using a Pearl Prestige 16x16, is there any way to suspend a snare drum mount without carrying the whole snare stand?
Like attaching it to a leg of the floor tom with the DCA-180, does it has the right size?

Something like the M80/Short Fuse snare would be ideal for this, it mounts to a percussion rod, so using a clamp like this, you could quite easily rig it to the floor tom leg:

And then a 9mm Z rod to give you extra height and adjustability https://www.tama.com/eu/products/detail/zcb.html

You wouldn't be able to use a snare basket, you would need a RIMS mount with a 9mm tom mount on it, or alternatively a snare like the Pearl Short Fuse which mounts to a percussion rod. https://pearldrum.com/en/products/sn...se-10x45-snare

I see, I'm trying to recycle the drums I already have and the the least possible amout of new hardware, otherwise I can just buy a cocktail kit.

If thats the case and you have a cheaper snare you don't mind drilling, attach a tom mount to it and you'll be fine.
