  • Demon Direct Drive factory settings?

Hi, All! I picked up a used Demon Direct Drive double pedal (P3002D) from Musician's Friend and the settings are all wonky. Does anyone know how I can return all the settings to the factory settings so that I have a baseline for any future adjustments? Aware of any instructions/schematics by Pearl? Thanks, and Happy New Year (almost)...

There are no 'factory' settings. But if you use the supplied links above, youll find this page http://pearldrum.com/products/hardwa...-direct-drive/ with all the settings and what they do.

      Yes there are.

Beater holder should be put to "finesse" setting (beater should be closer to the head) and direct link should be put to "heavier feel" (closer to you). As for beater angle goes, there are 3 markings on the post of the pedal, middle one (the longest one) is for factory setting as seen here (here you can also see the position of the beater holder - closer to the head):

Footboard angle - there are markings on the spring rocker, there are 5 markings and again, the longest (middle) one is for factory setting as seen here (here you can also see the position of direct link):

Beater has the marking for the factory setting and spring tension has markings also, I think the lowest spring tension is factory setting and usually pedal comes in a shortboard mode.

Glad I found this link as my pedal (used) was «messed» with.
Brought it back to «Light setting» and it works like a charm!
              Best pedal I’ve ever had!

This was TREMENDOUSLY helpful! I bought a DD used for next to nothing, and I was disappointed with how it felt, even after cleaning and lubricating everything that needed it. It felt like I had to totally stomp on it to get any kind of strong kick stroke. I tried a harder and heavier beater, but that didn't even really help all that much. Turns out, I had it on all the "light" settings, and it was working against the result I was trying to achieve lol. Thanks guys!
