  • Replacement Conga Head Help

I tried looking on the forum but couldn't find anything regarding this. If i Missed it somewhere please direct me there.

I have Bobby Allende Series Conga (11.75) and Tumba (12.50), Cafe Con Leche Finish. I am not digging the synthetic Remo heads and would like to get rawhide heads. My question is, will the Pearl Heads that are on the Elite drums, fit the Bobby Allende Series? I don't see why they wouldn't but before I ordered them I wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Hi,

    Yes, they should work.

For example, the 28" deep Pearl Premiere Pro wood congas use the same heads as the 30" Elite series wood congas.

As an alternative, check out manitopercussion.com. They're based out of Georgia and they make wonderful sounding and looking replacement conga heads for all manufacturers including Pearl. Steer, cow, buffalo in a variety of colors and thicknesses. The owner, Swen is very accommodating, responsive to email or you can just call directly. Granted, they cost a little more but his craftsmanship is worth the investment. I recently replaced the stock heads on my LP Raul Rekow bongos, horse skin on the macho and steer on the hembra. They sound and look fantastic!
