  • Hand drum modification.

I mounted two banjo tuning pegs to the rim of my plenera drum, and ran 2 banjo strings underneath the head. I was inspired by another type of frame drum called a 'bendir'.

I could have done a better job winding that treble string. Oh well.

      Really cool!

What happens to the sound when you change the tension of one, or both, of the strings? I'd imagine it would be similar to changing the tension on snare wires, but with the added benefit of (possibly) being able to actually tune the wires.

the effect is not as pronounced as with a snare drum, of course ... but I can dial in anywhere from a rattle to a tight buzz.

          Excellent!
Check out my incomplete snare drum collection thread. I like it and think it is quite charming. :)
