  • Yamaha Harness Problems

My High School line's snare drummers keep snapping the screws in the lower half of their harnesses. This problem hasn't happened with the tenors or bass drums. No one knows why it is only the snares, hardware is barely 2 seasons old and they haven't been abused in any way. Help would be appreciated.

P.S. This is the harness...Click image for larger version

I've never used this particular harness, but I have broken the tension rods that hold it together (on old pearl vest-style harnesses). I learned that if you crank the hell out of those screws/t-rods, they will break. Tighten them just enough to hold the drum up plus some.

    Hope this helps!!

I dont know your answer, but considering you are on a Pearl site, id say to switch to pearl. They are better.
