Hi fellow drummers!
I've been away from these forums for a while, but I'm back!
I'm a Pearl guy. I love all kinds of other brand of drum kits, but Pearl will always have a special place in my heart. I still have my 1998 Masters Custom Extra kit (will never sell it), but I wanted a cheaper gig kit. I've restored and re-wrapped two kits before this one (here's a link to the first one I did many years ago: https://www.pearldrummersforum.com/s...xport-Rock-kit!! ) . Anyway, the bug bit me again, so I found a great deal on a set of Pearl ET Maple (1980-82?) which I bought used locally for $100. The original "silver flash" wrap finish was in rough shape, but the drums were mostly complete and the shells weren't damaged. I knew these would be a great project kit, so I took them home and stripped them down to bare shells and cleaned/polished all the hardware. I had great experiences with Jammin Sam wraps before, so I knew I wanted to buy from them again. I wanted sparkle finish this time, and wanted something a bit different than the common blue or silver sparkle, so I picked LIME GREEN! I'm thrilled with the results, and these look absolutely amazing under stage lights! I still need to put the Pearl badges back on, but I'm not sure if I will since I don't want to cover up any of the beautiful finish. They sound every bit as good as they look, especially with 2.3mm hoops I put on them. I simply wrapped over the Pearl tom mount and bass drum mount holes, but there doesn't seem to be any problem with this since the wrap is thick and doesn't buzz or vibrate.
The pictures are taken at two different very recent gigs. One gig requires me to be inside a plexiglass drum booth, so that's why you see some glare/light reflections in the pictures. Enjoy!
