Re: badges. I'd want everything to match, too, but you got a great result with Drum Workshop stepping up and looking after you with a minimum of fuss. Whenever you catch a glimpse of that silver badge, see it as a symbol of how the situation worked out for the better. Now your kit has some kind of history. How cool is that?!
Good perspective on the badge thing, thanks!

Great looking set up although I prefer your two up set up in the first pic on the first page. They sound glorious!
    Thanks man!

I appreciate it! Yeah, lots of time and saving going into that cymbal setup. Also, buying used helps a LOT! The only cymbal in that setup I bought new was the 20" K Custom Dark ride, about 8 years ago.

Swapped things around to a 1 up, 2 down setup and it feels like home again. I also added a double pedal for the first time in my 20 years of drumming. It's.....interesting. Loving the looks and sounds with this setup!

Well, ridiculous or not, I went through all stages of emotion yesterday and finally this morning came to a solution:

I want to keep the silver badges because they are original to this drum. One of the badges is serialized and matches the label on the inside of the drum. The other is plain. I purchased a plain gold DW badge off of ebay for $50. I will replace the plain silver badge with the gold one and that will be the one that shows towards the audience. DW sent me a new set of legs with this drum and told me to keep the old ones. I will sell the old set of legs to offset the cost of the gold badge.

You can find gold badges on eBay. I like the new leg mounts better than the older models which you can change, If desired. The bolt holes are the same.

So, I just got my 16" FT in. DW is an awesome American company with good values. They built me a completely new drum, new Truehoops, new legs, new shell, new heads, everything. I'm very excited to have a complete kit again. However, I wonder if I'm being too picky:

I'm slightly disappointed because the new drum has the new silver badges on it whereas my old drum and the rest of my kit have gold badges. I'm really torn. I mean, I got a brand new drum to replace one that was damaged in shipping. But now my kit isn't all matching.

What do you guys think? Being ridiculous? I did e-mail DW and ask if I could get the gold badges back. I suppose the True Hoops and newer style leg brackets will blend in ok. I also worry a little about potential future resale value of the kit.

    Thoughts?
