  • Pearl Masters Premium MMP / Masterworks #101 Walnut Lacquer

After six months of waiting, my Pearl Masters / Masterworks kit finally arrived! They look great. I'm going to change the tom batter heads to Evans G2 Coated, but even the clear Ambassadors sound pretty good. The build quality of this kit is just outstanding. I wanted a fairly compact kit and luckily Pearl was willing to make me a special sized bass drum. The Meinl Byzance Dark cymbals are also interesting. I wanted a set of dark, somewhat trashy cymbals to contrast the smooth Sabian HH, AA, and AAX cymbals I also own. Overall, I'm very happy with my drums!

    Specifications:

Pearl Masters Premium MMP (#101 walnut lacquer)
    - 22 x 14 bass drum, 10 x 7 tom, 14 x 14 floor tom

Pearl Masterworks (in MMP shell specs)
    - 13 x 5.5 snare

    Meinl Byzance Dark Cymbals
    - 20" Dark Ride, 16" and 18" Dark Crashes, 14" Dark Hats

    Hardware
Tama Iron Cobra bass drum and hihat pedals
