After being single for many years, my lonely 20" Granstar bass drum has finally been paired with another of it's kind. I couldn't pass it up when I came across this little beauty. These little ones have Emad batters over Onyx resos. The resos are turned that way for mic/stand placement. This is to keep my options open and keep them out of harm's way.
This pair is underneath a set of Artstar II toms... 8x8, 10x10, 12x11, 14x13, 15x14. These are all hanging rack toms. The two "floor" toms, 14 and 15, are not mounted on the rack, but are on a Titan/Granstar double tom stand. Don't mind the 8 and 15 heads, I have plans for a head change on all the toms. Even though the heads are different, I still have this kit tuned to major thirds via Tune-bot.
I needed to expand the rack to accommodate the second bass drum, so I acquired a few more miscellaneous vintage Tama Power Tower rack components from ebay. I realize most of today's racks have the curved bars, but I wanted to keep this kit 'authentic' looking with the vintage rack set-up. It's a fresh set-up, so I'm still tweaking. I had a huge 180 degree Gibraltar rack at one time, but I sold it long ago.
