  • My Pearl Session Custom (SMX) heads outside!

I got this kit about a year and a half ago and finally got around to doing a photo shoot with it. I dreamt of this kit for many years before I was able to acquire one. I decided to take it outside to do the finish justice. It's an awesome kit and I am very pleased with it.

    Specs as follows:

Pearl Session Custom (SMX) in Marine Blue Fade
    22x18 bass drum
    10x8 tom
    12x9 tom
    14x11 tom

14x5 1961/62 Ludwig Jazz Festival snare (see the links on my signature for more pics of these two snares)
14x5 Pearl Limited Edition Burl Mahogany snare
Edit: New Gretsch snare and more snare pics on page 4!

    Cymbals are Sabian
    14" HH medium hats
    10" AA splash
    16" AA medium thin crash
    18" HH medium thin crash
21" AA raw bell dry ride

Stands are Pearl 900 and 1000 series.
    Tama 1st chair throne
    Gibraltar 6600 double pedal

    Without further ado, the pictures!

Thanks! I do have a thing for Sabian. Maybe because they are Canadian and thus much cheaper here in the homeland. I'm oh so tempted to try an Artisan crash soon.

Ahhhhh, it is because blue is the best colour. Water is blue, the sky is blue, mountains look blue...

MBF is just stunning. I was quite disappointed when Pearl discontinued the Session series. I was thrilled to find this one used. They do sound excellent! Light years ahead of my old Forum kit. The bearing edges are perfect too. They seem every bit as quality as far more expensive kits.
