Custom Conaway- Gigging Setup, Drumhead Art (+ more)

My big rack setup is at a theatre for the next two months as I'm playing a musical revue gig with a local theatre company there. In the meantime, however, I had a couple gigs elsewhere so I had my gigging setup with me. I decided to set it up at home to practice a little bit (as well as muck around with some extra gear laying around).

First, I'll show you just my basic gigging four-piece with just single bass, hi-hat, and two ride cymbals.

Second, I've added another drum, double pedals, and some other cymbals (just for fun).

Man, your kit is incredible, and the art is just amazing. Sometimes drawing on heads looks tacky, but that is so gorgeous. Does the ink affect the tone at all?

I don't think the ink affects tone or resonance of the drums at all. If it was something a little heavier, like paint or something, then it may have an affect but the ink does very little. I haven't been able to notice any difference in comparison to heads without anything on them.

Your drums have always stunned me since post one, dude. Absolutely stunning. The sizes, the cymbals, the hardware choices...wow! You have quite a beauty. Plus, I really love the artwork on your front reso. You oughta' check out the reso on my kit in my sig. It's not done by hand, but it was a "custom" order.
