    I actually REALLY like that finish! How did you do the shell finish? The satin hardware looks pretty good too. Any chance of getting sound clips?

        Nice! Idevenk if some custom co's do split bass drums.. I would've shrunk the gap down a touch, but it looks awesome. I've also never seen someone turn chrome into satin that well either. What did you sand with?

            Ok...some people have been asking how I did all this. So here it is....

            (Here's another list...haha)

            1- I pulled off the wrap
            2- sanded the shells [With a course grit and then a fine grit]
            3- Then I applied a primer
            4- Then spray painted the shells black [inside and out]
            5- Then I did the orange splatter paint. That was done with acrylic paint. I just added a little bit of water to the paint and then dipped a paint brush in a TON of paint........and then flung it at the drum. I just did that for a while...and walha! haha....it was fun =]
            6- Then I did the edges on my router table
            7- And then I put it all back together!

            Note that I was also doing the hardware at the same time.....usually in between paint drying =]

            Cheers =]
            3-piece anyone?

                It would give the kit a finishing touch if you painted the 8 blocks holding the kick shells together either black, orage or gray (to match the shell colors or the satin hardware).

                Not sure about how your bass drum now sounds, but you did a good job on your whole kit!

                    You certainly achieved your goal of making the kit yours. Everything you did was definitely bold, but amazingly awesome. Is that an SK I or SK II on the kick? Well done!!

                      yeah..I know. I was going to, but I had to play for something and just had to put it together. So I never got the chance to paint them black....but you know...now that they've been like this, I like them and I don't really want to change them. Idk, I like them...haha

                          I don't usually like custom kits, but you have done an excellent job. The finish is awesome, the splatter effect is rad, and the setup looks simple yet brutally effective. That is one special kit. Congratulations on your fine work!

                            I think it looks really neat, brosef. I'm not too sure I'd like the sound, its hard to say cuz I can't hear it in person but I'm usually not a fan of venting. Either way its real cool. Rep for the three peice madness!
