  • Russ B's latest project:

I really wish I was more handy. Neither my father nor I learned how to "fix things" around the house. My grandfather owned his own carpentry business for 40 years - go figure...Anyway, I finally built my 1st decent riser for my Roland TD20. The 1st two fell apart. This one: 2"x4"s make up the base. They are screwed directly into 3/4" plywood on top. I then screwed 1"[a little less] rubber pieces[from www.widgetco.com/rubber-stoppers] into the 2"x4"s in 15 spots. The top "mat" is an 80 pound slab of rubber. Total cost of wood with screws:$50. Widgets:$44 with shipping. Rubber slab - $105 with shipping. It's solid and stops almost all of the vibrations from traveling down to my annoying neighbor below. *Unfortunetely, Michael Cartellone from lyrnyrd Skyrnd lives one apartment away on the floor below! He would have been much cooler...

Russ that is awesome! I think the riser is well put together and the e-kit set up is quite cool.

Roland doesn't sell anything high end together...The amp alone is over $600, although I paid $329 on a Guitar Center "clearance sale."
