  • New drums? I THINK NOT!

    Hey PDF!

    So, here's the story;

    I had an old starter set in my basement, and well, I tried to stain the wood a couple years back, and, let's just say I made the chinese drum kit look even more ugly than it was. So, I decided to re-wrap it. Here's the fun part; I went to a local fabric store that was closing, and well, found a pretty cool design, and thought to myself "eh, why not finish those old drums!" so, I got the fabric, and finished the drums all today. Check em' out, and tell me what you think. They feel like table cloth, but I think they look pretty cool.

    By the way, only costed me 7$, and I have tons left over!

    (Sorry for the bad pics and the lame heads. I didn't have time to run to the music store today, so maybe another day)

    Here they are;

                I did that to my mapex (see below) but I think that plaid is awesome. So classy and retro yet modern. Its way classier than my zebra finish.

                      It's easier than it looks, yet I wasted alot of fabric because of I mesured wrong!

                        I didn't use any glue in my little operation. I actuely just placed the fabric on the drum after mesuring, then where the two end's over lapped each other, I made sure it lined up with lugs. Then, with the acces, I plan on using staple's, but for now, they look good.

                            if its a thin fabric couldnt you just push the screw through it when putting the lugs back on?? it would make it much easier than measuring and cutting out spots for the lugs

                              I wanted to make it look as good as possible, and make it so say in a couple of years the finish is wrecked or I want to change it, I have that choice.
