  • My Cb Drums

these are my cb drums. i think the sizes are 12x? 13x? 16x16 22x? 14x? it is the sp series. the cymbals i have are cb cymbals. the crash ride and hats are the CB's that came with the set. the ride is one that i bought seperate. it still says cb drums mx series. the hardware is a cb drums hi hat pedal bass druum pedal and cymbal stand. then i have one gubraltar cymbal stand for the ride. the silver thing near my crash/ride is called the cymbal strangler, its something me and my friends made for a project.

        12x10, 13x11, 16x16, 22x16. i think.

I'd say to fix your toms, but honestly, there's not much else you can do with those depths, since they're hitting the kick. I like the color of those, though.

By the way, are you sure you're ready for a reference? a big one at that. haha.

To bring those toms in closer, try pulling out the tom arms higher out of the bass drum and push the toms closer together. The tom arms should not be pointing in opposite directions, but rather should be at a much tighter angle, and you should be able to angle the bend down to keep your toms lower.

Cool kit. You might want to angle the cymbals a bit less and pull the toms closer together though.

That "strangler" looks like it has a hair straightener on it... it looks interesting. Can you elaborate on what it's made of and how it works, i.e. what it does and how?

Yeah I think those are the sizes, and 14x5.5 snare.

The tom arms are just fine, by the way... I mount them off a stand now, but here's a pic from when they were still on the bass drum. Ignore the cymbal placement because it's very different now but... yeah.

ok thanks for the help. thats a really nice kit aswell. is that a CB drums sp series aswell? the cymbal strangler is made out of plumbing tubing for the tubing part nylon string instead of a chaing or belt and the flaps are wood but they have that balck stuff from mousepads on the so they dont damage your cymbal. to use it you adjust the height you want and put it where u want like near the ni hat pedal and when you want to choke a cymbal you press it. i dont really use it tho. that picture was for the project and i decieded to post t...lol if you have anymore quiestions about it u can just ask.

                      Yeah they're CB SP series.

Sounds interesting, but I'll stick with choking my cymbals by hand.

It doesn't look it, but who knows.
Reminds me of the YouTube vid of a spoof drumming DVD, where the drummer invented the 'Patented Gorilla Grip'. A gorilla's arm and hand, that, when a pedal is depressed, chokes the cymbal.
