  • Recording Photos For You All!!

    Hey guys,

Well my band is recording a new album as we speak, so I decided to take some shots of the drum tracking!

We are using my chuch, which is a large older style thing, which has an amazing sound if you play just right, but I'll let the photos do the talking!

No tracks up yet, but I'll get some up when it's all finished!

    And now the photos!

Nice! Yes, how did you make that 'subkick'?

Wasn't the room a little too big? Don't like to record in too big spaces.

        Very cool though!

What mics were used? I see SM57's ... and what outboard/DAW/...?

such a sweet setup, mine was very similar, apart from me having 2 floors.

crash looks low as ****, like mine lol

Thanks man, Yeah the sub kick is just a 8" sub mounted in the 10" tom shell, no heads either side, with a small XLR cable mounted through the air vent connected up to a standard XLR cable! It works a charm!

                              Thanks!

In terms of the size, I tried to keep the close mics right up close, but then I blend in the room ones to give as much of that "size-age" as I need which ovbiously changes from song to song!

Mics, actually the only brand named mic was the SM57 as you pointed out, the rest were a collection of mics I got made for me buy a mate I know who makes mics... Funny that! Ha ha ha, nah I told him what I wanted and he made up some stuff for me, they sound good so I don't care!

Outboard, Really all we used were a couple of firepods for tracking, and a presonus HP60 headphone amp, all into reaper. Although I may use some outboard gear for mixing, I haven't decided yet though!

Edit: Heres some gear photos for you!
