  • My third kit! Roland TD-6 KX

So I picked up my Roland TD-6 KX today and I couldn't be happier with it! It's really a fine example of Roland quality, everything is lightweight but sturdy at the same time. I quite like the feel of the meshheads but the cymbals take a bit of time to get used to I think.

After this weekend I'm gonna bring it to my college room so I can practice every day of the week. I toyed a bit with the settings and I'm really surprised of all the options the TD-6 has! There are loads of cool sounds to check out and the songs are also pretty fun to play along to. I might get a good amp sometime soon but I'm not sure if I'll need it.

When I'm done at college (in about two years) I want to put the pads in between my Reference kit for effects and stuff like that.

So there you go, my third kit.

Beautiful. I like it a lot. I, too, am a fan of Roland's stuff. Played some pretty high-end stuff, very nice feel to it.

However, I prefer your Reference. That's just me, though...

wow dude that looks pretty cool
when i met portnoy at sam ash i played around on the rolands and they are very nice electronic kits.
i even found the double pedal response was outstanding on the bass pad.. u gonna put a double pedal on it?
I used to use this forum for quite a long time, took a break from 2010-late 2012. Hoping to be more active again!

Awesome kit man The module on it is really cool, I got a roland, but I think it's the TD6 a step lower than yours. Will upgrade to the nice mesh heads soon.

The only thing I don't like is the set-up of their kits, it took me hours to get my double pedal, hi-hat foot pedal, and hi-hat etc all lined up correctly like my acoustic.

I got a TD 6V brain recently for my roland pads and I am very happy with the added sounds. I will say I like the ride and crash cymbals better from my TD 3 and I like most of the bass drum samples better on the TD3 as well. I am going to use both brains together one day in a 21 pad kit. For now the TD 6V and pads are going around my Signature kit for a while....I am going Hybrid
