Wow. That was terrible. I don't remember them sounding that badly when I saw them on the Dr. Feelgood tour. Granted I was young and didn't have the ears I do today, but my god.

My funny crue story, might have told this before.
Early 80's, I think Shout at the Devil tour. My good friend Joe went with some friends up to Cleveland to see MC at I think the Agora ballroom. Anyway the place had seats. Joe was never a metal head, he was into rush, yes, dylan, etc, late 60s to 70's rock and prog. These tickets were front row, so Joe not really being interested in MC just sits. Vince Neil noticed Joe sitting and motions for him to stand up. Joe just shakes his head no. Neil gives him a big FU and flips him off.

Joe laughs, and then stands. End of the song Vince tells him thanks and reaches out and shakes his hand.

I read Nikkis book and must say it was pretty good. Though, out of the 4 Mick seems the most interesting and well spoken.

I was ready to point out that of COURSE you hated it because you're an indie hipster but... holy ****balls that was awful. Kee-RIST.

And they didn't sound that bad on the DF tour because a) tapes and b) they were (supposedly) clean.

Vince clearly sucked, but the others were ok I guess. Blasting through a full PA, it probably rocked back in the day.

Vince sounds like he's strangling a cat with Tourette's Syndrome.

The best part is when they show the crowd with 1:50 left and someone's holding up a Walkman to bootleg the music. I bet that was some high quality recording. Hilarious! Thanks for the share. And the video features the kit this thread is about. And now I know what the Diamond Reso matched...Tommy's leather pants!

I saw this tour and also don't remember Vince skipping lyrics. It may have to do with how far along the tour was. I attended ToP - Girls - Crüe Fest w/ the Jesus Slappers and the farewell tour.

Crüe Fest and the Farewell tour he skipped a lot of lyrics. I didn't care. They never claimed to be Boston or Triumph. They made a pile of money and had a pile of fun doing it. Good for them.

                    • My good friend has a yellow DW kit that was owned, toured and played by Tommy Lee. I'm not sure what era it was from... though. I think it was from the Method of Mayhem days.
