What’s Going On with the PDF?

This has been a concern of mine. This place will end at some point, I just hope we all have a bit of notice before it does.

Whenever I see the "ERROR 502 - Bad Gateway" message come up when I try to bring up the PDF, I have the same thought.

I'm guessing here, but recently I think that these crashes have more to do with someone at Pearl Headquarters having to push a button (or two) on whatever computer to "recertify" the forum. In example, this past "outage" started sometime Friday morning and lasted till Monday morning. So, if the PDF "decertifies"/crashes on a non-business day (anytime besides 9:00AM to 5:00PM, Mon-Fri), and no one is around that would have the access to push that button, the forum remains crashed till the next business day. (Remember, just a guess.)

If this is truly the case, I really hope that someone at Pearl is working diligently to permanently to fix this problem, because it is happening with more frequency.

If and when that day ever comes, and Pearl decides to shut the PDF down for good, then I hope that the powers that be at least give us (and Nashville) a proper "heads up" before they pull the plug. It would be a nice courtesy for those of us that have been a part of this forum for so many years.

This happened once before. I’m usually not someone to accept someone on Facebook who I’ve never met personally, but there’s enough people here I’ve been communicating with for years that I might as well met you.

Funny thing is Josh Alberg did that and now he unfriended me. That was a first. I guess he didn’t care for my politics.

Been wondering the same thing honestly, it’s a bummer that it’s been shutting down on weekends, but better than it totally going away. I hope that one day when the PDF finally goes, we’re given a warning so that we can connect with each other a bit. If anyone wants to add me on socials (which I hardly post on, but still use to communicate with folks), just dm me.
