My mistake. Umi looks like a good girl.

Luckily our cats are pretty docile, insofar as unlikely to fight. The older, timid one will take a few weeks to warm up to the new pup and the other is totally fearless and will likely appreciate a playmate.
We have 2 cats and a dog- all rescues. The cats are male litter mates and are super close. They took to our Boo pretty quickly. The bigger cat actually plays with the dog and the smaller one grooms him. It’s our sign that he needs a bath. Lol

    • Whenever I get good enough at adulting to have my own place with enough room, I'm getting a siberian husky. It's not an easy breed (it's like having a really big cat that needs long walks, and a lot of discipline), but the effort is worth it! As long as you know how to handle them I can't imagine a sweeter creature - great with strangers, children and other dogs, and just wanting the cuddles.

Or else a silly mongrel like one of my friends' dog Bam Bam, a mix of labrador, husky, and greyhound. Imagine an incredibly stupid black lab with narrow, greyhound-y hind quarters, which talks like a husky, and is totally uncoordinated unless he's running flat out (then, suddenly he becomes very elegant). What's not to like? . I don't see them very often these days, and Bams is getting up in age with some hip problems. But he still puppy-jumps me as soon as i get in the door, all 45kg. of him...
He's a good boy! Second only to this guy:

Doing his best "I can has whatever is in the crackly bag too?" face:

      • Beautiful dog! They have such good ears, can hear the crinkle of plastic from anywhere.

We met the GS and he's a handsome pupper in person. He's definitely a little rascal and the lady with the rescue says he counter cruised her house. Haha, sounds like my late Mr. Max. We like him, he likes us, and we're going to pick him up for good on Monday! (We would take him home today but our new house is getting painted)

The beautifulest, if you ask me, but I'm biased. I'm Facies with the breeder he came from, so I know where to go when funds and space allow.
He didn't really need his good ears to hear that bag of candy being opened, as he was always napping behind/under my legs when I was watching tv at night. But it woke him right up, and then came the snout up in the sofa and the "can has?" look.

Bruh I gotta apply and get in first! Application opens next week, but it's a long drawn out process. Why not enjoy life in the meanwhile? We were planning to start looking later this summer after getting more settled, but when we saw this guy pop up on a Giant Schnauzer owners group, we felt obliged to apply and hope he ended up with a family that has experience with big dogs, not with some family with small children that could get hurt or knocked over easily.

                  Congratulations Kerry!

Monday is going to be a wonderful day for you guys, and your new furry family member too.

                  • Pupdate: our painters finished on Saturday, so we picked up this guy on Sunday AM instead. He has been so sweet and so well-mannered. I actually went to my first day at work at the hospital last night, so Legs spent the whole evening with him. I got selfies of them cuddling every 30 minutes, lol. I took him to a park this morning to get some good sniffs.

Huskies are great, even if mine has cost me as much as a car in the last two years.

I actually didn't think I was a dog person until we got Gizmo. As it turned out, I am one. Big time.
