[Hit 'Em Hard]

Tried to edit my previous starting post in CR thread (remove date range, my introduction, etc) and screwed up the entire thing. My apologies.

It's an easy accident to make.

I ended up watching Hired Gun last night on Netflix. Really enjoyed it. Felt bad for Liberty DeVito, though. It was nice to hear that Rudy left Ozzy because he wanted to enjoy playing live again after Randy died. Kudos to him for finishing the Diary tour. I know that had to be tough.

I used to be a coffee guy. I started when is pack into a roofing truck at 4:am. Cream and sugar. That lasted three days when I realized I was always the last guy getting back in to the truck.* Black coffee ever since.* I would also go to my mom and dad's and have coffee with them and my dad and would smoke our cigarettes.

It was hanging out with them and discussing any topic in the world that made me start to feel like I was becoming an adult.


After 25 years I gave the coffee up as it just didn't agree with me anymore.* I miss it like an old friend.


Charlie does appear to be ageless.* He's looked the same for the last 20 years. I always enjoy hearing from the boys of Anthrax.

Charlie and Frank both look twenty years tonger than they should.

It's like back in the '83 US Festival when Bowie was making $1 million and his backing band was getting the standard rate of $300/show. When you see some of these major acts with only one or two original members, the sound and lighting guys could make as much or more as some of the musicians in the band.

I know Alice Cooper was talking about how great the hired guns are in his band, but the last two concert videos of his I've seen were a bit.... Sterile. No great chemistry between the players like I've seen in the past.

It suck when art becomes business. When music goes from a passion to a job the fun drains from stage.

It was cool seeing all the " guns " for Alice Cooper when I just saw them live a few years ago. That girl/lady/woman can shred. I'm not sure which is appropriate to call her anymore. I guess as long as it's not babe/chic/dame!

FETV on DirecTv channel 323 is showing The Monkees. It just dawned on me that Mickey Dolenz wasy first drumming influence. Though I had grown up listening to many bands, the Monkees were the first group I saw with my own two eyes. Mickey's Glitter Gretsch kit is a beaut. And he could sing!

Last train to Clarksville was a favorite of my Dad's.

Not that he was a fan of rock n roll, but he was a fan of good music.

Plus, he had a brother that lived in Clarksville Missouri, and there was a huge train yard there at one time.

My dad would go visit his brother Sam and stay a few days and play music. This was many years before I was born, but still a nice story to hear.


My dad and a coupe of his brothers had a band when he was 20 ish. He was the seventh son as am I. So....yep! I'm the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

I noticed that too, that Rudy was complementary of both Ozzy and Sharon. I actually don't remember the last time I've heard Rudy say anything negative about anybody.
I wonder if Tommy was looking at the Bark At The Moon tour as a temporary gig, as opposed to being part of the band. Filling in to help out on the tour.
