Had a blast with the used one I got a couple of weeks ago. That's what convinced me to get one NIB.

Mine were stomped on by my boy Phil but he takes care of his gear and other than some scuffs, they’re perfect.

Much appreciated. O's colors to boot.

I will be in md in June. Baltimore to be precise, for my 50th high school class reunion, McCartney at Camden Yards, and Ringo's All Starr Band at the Lyric Tuesday night.
There will be crabs... crab cakes, and hot pastrami on rye too. Little Italy? Who knows. A friend of mine owns a place in Essex I have to get out to as well called, The Tempo Lounge, "The dive that's worth the drive". Should be an eventful 5 days.

            • Just picked up a Yamaha EAD10 from Drum Supply here in Nashville. Got a great deal on it and I’m very excited to see just what all it can do.

              • Got a memory lock for the H150-S hi-hat pedal. No more problem now with the bottom cymbal dropping down during a song.
Once I decided to shop for a Demon Drive pedal and found one from Japan that was black I was all over it like water on a plate! The orange wooden beater was the cherry on top.
My kit is pretty much done, 4pc to 7pc set ups.

                  • That's a pretty hot lookin' pedal there, Ron. Black and orange really sets it off.

                      Thanks.
                      The black version slayed me.

The Cobra Coil is a spring with foam insert under each footboard. They help the footboard stay with your foot as you play. I feel like I can play faster and in more control than with the Pearl or DW pedals; it's just a unique feature that sets the Tama pedals apart for me. I play both sets everyday, and always note the difference in the way the pedals feel.

Speaking of comparisons... I'm thinking of adding the DW pillows with clear 1-ply heads to my Starclassic kick drum batters. I think I'm hearing much more low end and punch from the pillow as opposed to the foam ring from the EMAD. If I do it, I will do just one kick, so I can hear the difference.
I appreciate the input! The SC’s are definitely some of my favorite pedals and the ease of playing them is a big reason why I love them. It feels like they do so much of the work for me. I have no reason to get rid of them but I’m always curious if there’s something better out there that I haven’t tried.

Also I’m on the same boat in terms of kick heads on my SC kit. I’ve got a clear Gmad on the batter and stock resonant on each of my bass drums and I don’t feel like I’m getting as much low end as I’d like. The kicks are super punchy, but I don’t get that room shaking boom that I’m used to, but it could just be the room itself. My old DW Performance kit is owned by a very close friend of mine that I live with and that kick sounds amazing with a clear PS3 on the batter. I also am just not a fan of Evans heads, but I usually will play them since I can get them discounted.

I think the foam and the density of the Gmad might just be killing too much tone for my liking. I’ve got the Evans pillows in them as well, so I think maybe going with a non-fiber resonant and clear PS3 might be just what I need to get more out of the kicks.

I remember when Tama introduced that cobra coil, and I thought it was just a new gimmick to sell pedals. Reading this made me realize I never got passed that initial assumption. Guess I should actually give them a test. I might like them.

I've got two sets of ~15-year-old Iron Cobras. Great pedals, no issues in 15 years. Though I wouldn't mind something fresh. I've looked at the ACD Unlimited pedals. I really like the design and (apparent) build quality, plus the craftsmanship. BUT they are expensive. And I can't test before buying. But also I really like his remote hihat design...

I'll probably just end up buying new springs and bearings to freshen up my current cobras. Maybe I'll see if I can put a cobra coil on them as well.

                          • Just played the DD’s. Aside from my crap double kick technique, they’re gonna take some getting used to.

Hope the DW pillows give you the BD thump your looking for Matt. I just purchased a Sonitus Kicker 4.0 for my Gretsch 14 x 20 BD. Must admit, I'm a happy camper!

Sounds like something you’d buy in an Eastern Bloc country, not North Carolina.
