    Sooooooo...
Star Reserve Hand Hammered Copper in the 6.5 x 14 size. And the die cast hoops are to replace the brass hoops?

You're close, but I already have that drum... I also replace the Star lugs. On the drum that just arrived, I sold the Star lugs in less than 24 hours. Last year, it was more challenging selling Star Lugs, but things are different now. I also depends on who is shopping on Reverb.

The buying & selling of parts and then possibly lowering its value.

Hey Dale, the late great Jaco Pastorius who was a wonderful drummer bought a Fender Jazz Bass, ripped the frets out and made history! Best of luck to you and your Jazz Bass!

I was completely unaware of what Dale was implying, especially since he couldn't have been more vague, and since every snare drum I've sold in 2019 and 2020 has been at a profit.

Thanks. With the rhythm I’ve already developed, scales I know from playing the guitar, and because for the most part it’s only one string at a time, it’s already feeling good in my hands.

It’s not just that, but finding guys who want to take these left over parts. Again, I like what you created more. I would just buy a drum I already like as is.

                  • I don't have the confidence Matt does in fine-tuning equipment to his liking.

It seems like the further I tear the drum down, the wonkier it sounds when I reassemble.
So other than changing heads and tuning 'em up. I try not to tinker with 'em.

Selling Tama (and Pearl) parts on eBay and Reverb is easy peasy. Since many of the parts work on multiple models, there are many buyers out there for valuable parts. The drummer who bought this last set of lugs from me is actually going to use them on a John Blackwell signature snare. I would never have guessed that, but the parts fit.

This I understand. Sometimes I leave a drum alone, but most of the time I have a vision of what I would like to see and or hear, and make that happen.

I think the same thing happens with cars. Some people buy cars, and leave them exactly the way they come from the factory, while some customize a little, and some go wild, changing all sorts of parts inside and outside the vehicle. As a former Corvette owner and lifetime enthusiast, I see very few stay completely stock. Almost every owner adds or changes something, to make it their own.

                      • So not totally new but it’s the first time I’m running both pads on the kit. I gotta say - these things are a revelation. So simple to use, even a caveman like me can do it. And fun as hell.

Different sound effects- drums, claps, congas, 808 drops, etc. They’re compact and easy to use.
