  • Yama oak

After some consideration I have decided to add an oak kit to my arsenal of yamaha drums. I am torn between the amber and the transparent black. Will most likely go with a 2 up 2 down set up thinking 12/13 rack 14/16 floor 22" lick. Or should I go 10/12 14/16?

If you're torn, get the finish that's the bigger contrast to your other kits. I'd go with the fusion sizes, to get more difference between each tom, but that's just me.

You can't lose with either finish. I have a 20" kick along with 12" & 14" toms. The sizes work really well for the singer-songwriter band I play with, and they're easy to transport. It all depends what you plan on using the kit for. Whatever you choose, you'll be extremely happen with the Yamaha Oaks. I know I am.

            I'm going with...

            22x17 (x2)
            10x8
            12x9
            16x16
            18x16

I like the contrast of ultra high end to ultra low end with the rack/floor toms. I think that because the Oaks are such huge sounding drums, those sizes will work very well! Good luck!

Transparent black or natural I'd say.

I think you would see all that beautiful wood grain more with the honey amber if that is something you like to see. If not, then black is cool too.
