  • Help Identifying what year this Export kit is?

Looking at a used Export kit. Person says color is champagne. Badges aren't very clear. Any thoughts on age and value for just the drums? It's a 5 piece 12, 13, 16, 22 and 14 snare. Looks to be in good condition. Thanks!

Looks like early 90's probably .. not worth much at all.. as you can see below, just a couple of examples, but Guitar Center has these for under $200

The color in the photo looks like 33 Pure white but maybe it has faded. They didn't have a champagne finish in the 90's.
Shells were 9-ply Mahogany with birch/inner play (8+1).

Same generation as my first export! 90s yay!
My previous Ludwig kit; Pearl Sensitone Aluminum , Pork Pie, Black Panther and Crush snares.
DW 5000, Pearl modded P-102, P-120P & P-2002B. IC Powerglide. Many cymbals from the big 3.
Tiny pic of my old cymbal setup.

I beg to differ. I bought an Export in '94 with an official color name "champagne frost". Perhaps that's the color.

You are correct. I found the finish in our 1995 time line for the EX series

Yeah, it took me a minute to find it.

As far as I know from the catalogs I have, the color "Champagne Frost" was only offered in 1995. I own this set. It looks excellent, and displays true pearlescent characteristics in that it has varying color hues when viewed from different angles. These drums are mahogany plies with birch inner ply, and tune up very nicely with good heads. The chrome on them is better quality than found on many current mid-priced sets.
I don't own the factory snare, so no opinion on that. IMO, these older Pearl Exports are undervalued, and an excellent drum set for what they sell for these days.
