!970's kick pedal part missing

I recently came across this old pedal among my old drum bits. I got this in 1975 with the kit I had at the time. I would like to make it usable again but as you can see the bit that holds the beater in place is missing. Does anyone have any suggestions about what might be compatible?

Did a quick search on Reverb and found this. You could grab this one for parts or possibly make the pin out of a same sized bolt and a wing nut.

Quick fix, maybe a hose clamp. Nobodies going to see it but you. The specialty eye bolt that it came with would be laborious to duplicate.
