I must say I like that Smokey Chrome finish and that Electric Blue Sparkle looks really cool on the new EXX Export!
I wonder at what price this will come
The only thing I don't like is the 'Made in China' placement on the badge

Glad to see the return of Smokey Chrome, as well as them all having chrome lugs/hardware again. I love the red wine color, I have had 2 sets in that finish over the years, fortunately mine were old enough they had chrome hardware. I did NOT like the red wine with black hardware, I never thought it looked good. Glad to see the Exports back in the lineup! Got Exports back, got Sessions back....now if the MLX/BLX could just make a comeback too

i like the white, but i'm not too crazy about the other finishes. also what is up with the floor tom in between the basses on the pearl website? i've never really seen a set configured that way...

No they are not drilled into the shell. Pearl’s new Opti-Loc tom mounts attaches via a triangular design with two tension rod attachment points and another one through one of the drum’s two air vents (allowing you to mount from either side with the badge showing front and center) providing 100% stability allowing the tom to resonate freely.

I do like this new mount. A much needed improvement on the design. I hope they get added onto Vision kits next year.

Serisouly though, the new Export series looks awesome. I love everything except maybe the badge, it's rather large. Or that could be due to the smaller lugs.

Just too bad I'm not in the market for this type of kit.

I might be crazy, but I think I like the look of the new Opti-Lock mounts better than the regular Opti-Mounts. They appear to accomplish the same thing but without obscuring as much of the finish. I wonder if they're retrofit-able on all Pearl drums? Hmmmm...
