Did this modification a few weeks back. No offense to those who hang but this is much better.

I just got a 13x16 that's going to get the same treatment.

I have a VSX in that same size (and finish) & I've been thinking about doing that as well.

I've got the same tom (different finish), and I've got it still hanging.
This looks a lot cleanere though

Only thing is: one of my biggest influences is The Rev (rip) and he had all toms. From time to time I switch between floortom and really hanging tom.

Floor toms

I prefer floors too with legs. makes em easier to move around on stage in tight areas.
