Could be because you have the toms mounted weird or because you hit them weird or because they are old skins or probably a few other factors... have you had the problem since new or what?

If I could get a tuning to last a week of hard playing I'd be a very happy man.

yeah, forums take some careful tuning to find a good spot, and the hardware isn't the best so it won't stay. Underneath good ear protection, it's harder to hear poorly tuned drums, so for me I can go a while without bothering since I don't play with others on my drums a lot.

How old are your heads? old heads will detune quicker than new ones, if you are a very hard hitter I think they will detune a bit faster but not majorly I dont think, and also like said above the hardware isnt as good on forums and may loosen each time the drum is struck and vibrates.

hey Pantera hows' it going? don't sweat it! save and get new heads check your local area for any upcoming vintage drum shows. i bought four remo pinstripe batter heads for $15.00 what a deal! look for sales, and check "World Music supply" There web site is pretty cool and there prices are real good also. I havent bought from them yet myself but check em out anyway. in the mean time practice, practice, practice, play, play, play, and if you feel like tweaking on those tension rods have fun and go for it!
