    eli--

I think you made a great choice--please post us some pix when you get done--and send a couple to Sam!

My kit is coming in natural birch, and if I play out, I was thinking of white satin myself:

Hope your project goes well, man!

PS--Hey cashay and sk8-- why not go chat somewhere else about Jacko? I think it's really rude to interrupt someone's thread with nonsense like that. The guy is trying share some info, and you two just want to bust in with unrelated garbage. It's a poor thing to be doing; show some class next time.

And actually, I lied. Talked to sam barnard earlier and decided to go with the black oyster pearl. I never ordered the other stuff. But I was going to. Here's a pic. He said the satin flames were not very durable even though they are cool. They're reall thin and rip easily.

              I refinished two export kits.
One I rewrapped with a blonde wood finished laminate and the onther one I just straight on the shell with candy apple green.

You can get some wraps and see alot of refinish jobs @ www.drummaker.com

I've never bought stuff, but it has a great drum forum.

Yea, but what I like about sam is that they cut it for you and you don't have to use contact cement. It's a hi-bond tape that is not messy and easy to put on. They're customer service was great too.

im thinking about recovering them because iv ehad it for a year and ive played way too many shows and theyve gotten scratches on them. Now I know how to take the covering off and how to put the new ones on, but what do you do about the badges???? and the vent holes??? can u buy badges from Pearl? heh lol

You have to file off the vent holes. You can buy new ones at www.drummaker.com. I gave up trying to get the badge off. They're glued on and it's a pain to take them off. Pearl doesn't make badges because people can put them on they're other non pearl drums and make them seem pearl. The wrap comes off really easily. I took a hair dryer and put direct heat on the seam then eventually pryed it off with a screw driver. Go to www.sambarnard.net for details on wrap. They probably are on of the best.

usually sub-200 bucks for a standard 5 piece, depending on what finish you choose.

I have a couple of Jpegs of one of the Eport kits I refinished.

                              How about a little help.

I wrote a message, clicked on browse, found it on my desktop and clicked attached.

                              Butt no image.

                              Did I miss something?
