  • Drumsticks!

Does anybody out there know what sticks the Scouts use/have used in the past? Or the Cavaliers... Or any corps, really.
I assume the Scouts use a VF, since they have some videos on VF's YouTube channel, and the sticks I got from the souvenir trailer when they came to the area were MS2's..... But I just wondered if anybody knew for certain! Any input appreciated.

A lot of corps use Innovative Percussion and Vic Firth. I suggest buying different pairs and finding your favorite.

There is only one corps that I can think of that uses Promark, and that is the Blue Devils. I don't really care for Promark, as they tend to break more often.

The System Blues are the only marching sticks worth a **** from Pro-Mark. I have the DC50's, which I used on tenors, and they were excellent. But, Vic Firth and Innovative Percussion are nice.

Stay far away from Vater. They're great at making drum set sticks, but they need some help in the marching department. Never heard a matched pair from their marching stuff.

Yes. Although, as mentioned in another thread, I have grown to love my Jeff Ausdemore Indoor marching sticks. The outdoor ones are pretty good too.

May I ask why you are looking for a specific pair?

I generally order three or four pairs of sticks, to make the shipping worth it. I'm getting a pair each of Jeff Queen's, McNutt's, and the Lee Beddis sticks. I figure trying a few and deciding which I like is better than being stuck with something I don't like.
I'm also going to try the IP Mike McIntosh signature's... Haven't used them, but he personally recommended them(of course) at the Mini-Camp I went to last year.

Forgot about the Ausdemore outdoors. My friend has a pair, he let me use them, and I was pretty impressed. My school has a ton of DC-4's, they're utter trash, which has given me a bad taste in my mouth for Pro-Mark. I really tend to lean towards Vic and IP for marching.

I'm pretty sure the Scouts snares use Lee Beddis models, since he is percussion director there.

So I would assume the Cavies use McIntosh's... For the same reason...?
And also, does you guys prefer any site to order from? I live smack in the middle of Kansas.......not very much selection at the local music store. Actually, none at all. So I'll be ordering online, i'm sure.
