i bought some Harpy cymbal of eBay its an 8" splash, and its got this reflective green coating on it. very sweet only cost about $25 all up.
has anyone heard of this brand.????
You bought a brazilian cymbal. B8 alloy, I don´t like these cymbals too much but I have a splash 9''. The mine cost about U$10,00. Check: www.harpycymbals.com.br - There´s an english version.
are those like the blue and red cymbals? i've seen them on ebay
Dream set up: 12" wuhan splash 12" wuhan china 14" AA metal X hats
14" K custom dark hats
18" K dark medium thin
18" A medium 19" AAXplosion
20" K custom ride
22" A ride (left side) 22" wuhan china
17" K china
They are always on French ebay too, but I tend to avoid them, as in my mind cheap cymbals are never a good thing. (although i guess wuhan/stagg are OK if you go through a pile) I'd prefer to play it before I buy it off ebay, especially with an unknown quantity.

I have a Harpy 20 inch ride. It was coloured blue but with a lathe I managed to get the blue colour off of it. Truthfully, it sounds just as good as some of my Sabians and Zildjians for a fraction of the cost. Of course some folks laugh at me for having a "cheap" cymbal but when they hear some of my recordings they can't tell one cymbal from another.
