Yeah I'm not doing anything like that gig wise! But just have an unorthodox cymbal taste. Currently this is my selection of Zildjian rides (so excluding my old Sabian 22" Paragon and a 70's 18" Zyn)

    18" 70's A Ping
    18" 70's (outline logo) A Medium
    18" 70's Constantinople (Brilliant)
    18" K Custom Session
    19" A Armand 'Beautiful Baby'

I've used selections from that lot on everything from jazz trio shows up to playing hard rock, and they all sound great. I don't get what I want in terms of sound and response from 20" rides seemingly, every 20" i've ever owned i've sold. The 18's have something special about them that I just can't place, the balance just seems to be perfect.

Same! I've never owned or played a 20" ride cymbal that did something for me or made me feel a certain way. But there's something about 22" rides that just really works for me. My K Dark is such a crazy example of an all purpose, great sounding ride that just feels great under the stick. But if I want something with a little more dirt, the K Custom Dry crash is where it's at! And then my K Light with the EFX holes is the best crash ever!

really? i thought that was standard practice ..
as for the stamping believe it or not, when they first introduced the z series , they were in the 80's and these were the first "computer stamped " cymbals (pretty sure the old i phone just upgraded from had more power ) in the literature of the time , there were 3 styles of stampinga series of circles(medium) a series of stars (lighter) and hexagon stampings (heavy) usually , at least when i got my first ones , the star patterns were the lighter top hats and thehexs were normally the bottoms ,, i assume the circles were more for crashes and rides and such ..but my ole' stand byes were stars on top and hex's on the bottom ,
TODAY if i want a new set of dyno beats , they only sell the bottom s .literally if you want a fresh pair, they have to purchased individually and they only do hex's also , sadly they ARE lighter .. that was confirmed by the zildjian rep at that meet and great we did back in 16 .

        • So I have this 80’s official Zildjian jacket. The relief logo was abit bland against the black background (or foreground if you will) so I had this idea to fill it out woth gold paint.

A buddy of my does shoe customization and wanted to take this challenge. It was a hard one but I love the result!

            • Finally picked up a 24" medium ride (for just under $250) and they were basically giving these S Family Trash Crashes away ($89 for the 20") so I got one of those as well.

                      • I just picked up an 18" Crash of Doom for $175 from a pawn shop. It's such a rare cymbal, I pulled the trigger immediately!

...I don't even play crashes under 20", lol.

                          • That was my favorite of them with the 22. I didn’t care fir the 20.

Now you should get the 24 and 16 (DC only) too.
