Picked up an A custom 18" crash, and an A custom 20" projection ride.
Love the crash over my old ZBT, sounds great. And they aren't lying when it says Projection...
Looking for a 13-15" high hat and a 16" crash to complete my set up.

Also, a drummer in my class said he wouldn't upgrade his A customs to K customs because "K customs are for Jazz". Have i missed some drummer memo, or does he not really know what he's talking about? I have heard some great sounding K's, and i have a hard time believing that.

K Customs are not just for jazz. A cymbal dictates it's use mainly by which it is played. I use my K Custom Dark cymbals for a variety of genres.

        This.
I have also two K's (hats and ride) and one K custom (crash), I think they are great cymbals for many, many genres. I can imagine, that they would do well in jazz, but I mostly play rock with them.
Cymbal doesn't decide, what kind of music should you play. You can play any genre with any kind of cymbal. The main thing is, that you like how your cymbals sound.

I can think of a lot of K Custom I can use for something other than "jazz".

I use K Custom Hybrids (16" and 19") and a K Dark Thin 19". They sound amazing and fit in to anything you want. Their expresiveness really cuts through and creates great atmosphere. They fit in to jazz due to the lightness of touch that still gets them singing, but belt them and ooooh mama!

I find them closer to thin rides than crashes.

I've got a 22" K Custom Dark Ride, it works really well with my Sweet Ride, imo.

I have the sweet ride and the 22k crash/ride in brilliant finish and they work really well together. You can still pick them up on ebay.

I'm gonna say dark medium or light.

They sound quite different. To me rides that sound very similar are clashing.

I have no budget, but once I do again, lol, a regular old "A Zildjian" 18" Thin Crash is first up on my wish list. I know there's a lot of different Zildjians out there, but want it to match the A. Z. 16" Thin Crash I already have. I have Jam Night buddies, but also use them at church occaissionally. The classic A's crash easily and also sound great with mallets for cymbal rolls for stuff at church.

I keep having to change my sheets after having dreams about the 24 light ride. *drools uncontrollably for several minutes*

Just got a 20" K Con Med Thin Low ride...and I love it. Nothing bad about it. Nothing even average about it...its great.

Also got a 22" K Custom High Definition ride to try out as its complimenting ride. I was unsure at first but it is reallllly growing on me. Always looking though...

Would love to have a pair of K, K lights or K con hats. Just got 14" dream bliss though *ignores hisses
Gotta love the drums. Nothing like a good bass drum-snare-hihat combo.
