A good surprise is pretty dang sweet. The only thing my parents could bring me from their work is some body's taxes (CPA) or some title work on some landThat's incredible! That seems like it'd be quite the job! Landing a sponsorship would be just incredible. In that case, I might actually have more than 4 cymbals on my kit
I was on a drumline for three years with a kid who's uncle works for Gretsch/Gibraltar. About every 3rd year, he'd get a new kit. My senior year of high school, he landed a Gretsch New Classic. I was always pretty jealous, but in the end, I now have the kit I've always wanted and taking steps to get the cymbals I want.
PM me for the sound I want and then tell Mark. I could use some more Sabians.Sabian

They are?! This could help win my mom over (she's the only non-musician in the house, and doesn't understand spending money on music).I love when my cymbals talk dirty to me.

New (old) cymbal day!
Just got back from picking up some new (old) pies - first off, big thanks to Nuggs for spotting them for sale and hooking me up with the link! Thanks pal!
20" K Custom Ride - at least 15 years old
18" A Medium Crash (trad. finish) - etched logo, not fully sure of age
10" A Custom splash - maybe ten years old
All in (far as I can tell) perfect condition, albeit a little dirty and some logo wear - £185 collected for all three!
I intend to flip the 18" A, since I already have one (and my A crashes are all brilliant finish anyway), so if I can get between £50 and £75 I'll be really happy with that. The 10" A Custom I can definitely make use of - I've been intending to swap out my 10" and 8" Stagg splashes for A Customs anyway, since I already have a 12" A Custom, it'd be nice to have all the up front splashes as A Custom.
But the jewel is the K Custom. Been after one of these for years. I first "discovered" them back in 1998 working in my first drum shop just after leaving school - ironically, only a couple miles from the guy I just picked these up from - and lusted after one ever since. Nearly bought one on a few occasions, but either something else got in the way and needed the money for that, or (in most cases) the bidding went silly at the end and I struck out.
Now just wonder how long it'll be before I can get over to my kit and wail on it!sigpic

Oh I LOVE old cymbals! You can't beat the sound you get from a ten, fifteen, twenty year plus cymbal, that's got some wear on it, been broken in, dirtied and nicely aged. Beautiful!sigpic

Thanks! Still not played it yet!
Google makes that £75 to be $116 ($131 inc shipping). Granted I'll only see about £65 ($100) out of that after you take off shipping, paypal, ebay fee's, plus fuel driving to collect/drop off...
I was just impressed it sold in just over an hour of listing it!sigpic

I just sold an 18" A Rock Crash through another forum to a member for $100 including shipping. I had been sitting on it in ebay for $95 plus $15 shipping for three days and only one or two watchers. Had a bad feeling about that.
The member and I agreed to just use Paypal rather than go through the whole eBay thing. 3% from Paypal, and it'll cost me about $15 to ship so I'm in the $80-85 range now, depending on shipping.
Good thing I only picked it up for $50.I love to trade cymbals. ;)
