I don't know about the bottom, but my buddy uses a Quick Beat Top with a Mastersound Bottom.

The QB bottom works with anything, really. It lends a lot more to the overall sound than most hh bottoms. I've used it with an AA regualar hat top, a 2oo2 top, New Beat top, AAX Stage Hat top and even a huge fookin' Z BOTTOM.

Quick Beat bottom has no bell so if you use it with a hi hat that has a locking nut on top of the bottom cymbal the nut might not fit. e.g. most remote hats.

But anyway. i've used one with a NB and K top. I think the holes are a little over played and aren't needed or useful.

They make a definite difference to me. Both my QBs and my AAX Fusion Hats have a much louder chick and lack of that "suction" sound than my other hihats without vented bottoms.

Im thinking about buying a Quick Bottom and putting a K hi hat top over it to make it a little darker. Has anyone tried this?
