  • Building a Pearl Crystal kit. (new Here)

Hello, been reading these forums for awhile, owned quite a few different kits and after getting a new Crystal Clear Pearl thought I would share.
Still working on it, (waiting for another bass drum as well) and getting it dialed in as new ideas come and go. Love these kits and the sound. Anyway the sun finally came out today so I took it outside to get a few pics and to see what anyone may think? Thanks!

Great looking drums! It’s going to look killer with the second kick! Make sure to keep us posted.

Also, welcome to the forum! I lurked around the forum for years before i finally created an account and started posting. Lots of cool drumming knowledge around here. And we love pictures!

Kit looks great! The last photo though; is that just some forced-perspective trickery or do you really rock such a low-rider kit?

Gorgeous kit, Casey! Ultra Clear is a stunning finish and when I was considering buying a Crystal Beat it was definitely at the top of my list. Although the Frosted finish has rapidly caught up to it now, so maybe later on down the road, if I do pick one up, it’s definitely down to those two.

Also we love seeing spec lists here, so let’s hear it! What sizes and bells and whistles you running on this beauty?

              Love the Crystal Beats
              Love the Zildjians
              Love the Crue sign.

              Welcome to the forum!

One unsolicited suggestion... I love your rack. The double cross bars look on the side is cool. But when you get your second kick, consider using a tom stand between the two kicks and lose the cross bar across the front. I think it would look cleaner and show off the drums a bit more. Just a thought!

Thanks! I appreciate it! And the tom stand was my first thought as you can see in these pics, after I went with the side racks I started watching tons of youtube vids on racks, then got sort of curious with different ideas, it started growing, lol. I'm not sure where to go yet, my mind is always changing, tom stand would definitely be easier.Click image for larger version

When flying two toms over two kicks, I prefer to mount the toms on the kicks (old school style) or run a tom stand. But that's just me. Your kit looks killer and has got to be a blast to play.
