Cracks already?!

Just notice small hairline cracks around my CB floor tom leg brackets. The kit is only a few months old! Are these going to get bigger over time?? Is there anything I can do to prevent more cracking? (The screws werent even that tight)

It's stories like this that made me trade in my crystal beat kit, too bad cause they were a cool kit.
