  • DrumLite LED's

Have any of you guys tried these, or heard feedback on them? I think they look pretty sweet, especially with an ultra clear kit. Being able to basically change the color (and brightness) of your kit when you want is unique. Curious if they actually do not alter the sound of the drums, and how they would hold up over time (gigs etc.)

I bought a set of LED strip lights off Amazon & cut them to fit ... Same kit but much cheaper. I can choose many colors & it can cycle through them. They don't make any noticeable difference that I can tell. I use this kit for gigs so it's always mic'd. The sticky tape that holds the lights to the shell isn't real good so I bought some 3M foam double sided tape to help secure it. The tape is the type that holds up to 30 lbs to a wall & it has kept everything in place.

I also have a friend that gigs with an acrylic kit & he has the lights in them.... Looks great & again, I don't notice any major sound difference. I'm sure it wouldn't be the best choice for recording in the studio but it looks cool on stage.

Raider09 - thanks for the question! Our DrumLites have actually been tested by mulitple companies in the studio (including Pearl) and it has been found that DrumLites will not alter the sound of your drums in any way - guaranteed!

As far as durability, we have had folks using DrumLites since early 2011 (when we started the company) and they are still holding up like new. DrumLites have been road tested by many touring bands (Def Leppard, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Walk the Moon, POD, Arch Enemy, A Day To Remember - just to name a few) and we are confident our systems will hold up to any abuse you may throw their way!

Feel free to check out our FAQ page or this thread hear to learn more about what makes DrumLites unique:
